The BEEF Steakhouse & Bar is arguably the most well-known steakhouse in the center of Bern. So this is the place to go if you want to eat a high-quality steak in Bern.
Upon entering The Beef, you notice the dark interior with upholstered benches and chairs. They suit a steakhouse, are visually appealing, and also comfortable. The menu at The BEEF pleases any meat lover. It offers a good selection of Swiss beef, Irish beef, and bison. The BEEF also serves burgers and salads. There are also seasonal supplementary menus from time to time.
We found the deals on meat cuts including sides particularly attractive. For example, the BEEF Café de Paris comes with fries and salad. The pepper steak also comes with roasted potatoes and coleslaw. For other cuts, such as a Swiss Black Angus Dry Aged Sirloin Steak, sauces and sides cost extra.
The meat was very aromatic and tender. The doneness was right, though the “medium” was slightly overdone. The pepper sauce also tasted very good. Since the fries were also fresh and crispy, the meal was already quite excellent. Additionally, the green salad was generous, with avocado used in the preparation.
Overall, our visit to The BEEF Steakhouse and Bar was a success. We’d happily come back here when the opportunity arises.
