Our Dining Experience at McCarthys Pub Bern
In the warmer months, the first thing you see in front of McCarthys Pub Bern is the terrace right on Aarbergergasse. You can sit outside comfortably, enjoy a beer, and watch the city bustle.
Guests can sit at the bar or at the solid wood tables with comfortably upholstered armchairs and benches. McCarthys has plenty of space and plenty of shine.

The menu at McCarthys Bern offers mainly simpler dishes like burgers, fish and chips, or beef & Guinness pie.
We reserved a table in the front area of the venue. We were served at the table. The waiter came quickly and took our order. I ordered the beef & Guinness pie. When ordering at McCarthys, the question arises whether to order in English or if German is fine. I put it to the test and ordered in Swiss German. And indeed, I got what I wanted.
The pie was as it should be – shortcrust pastry on the outside with a hearty filling of beef pieces inside. The pan-fried potatoes were freshly prepared and tasted excellent with some sauce poured over them. Zucchini and bell peppers were also fine.
