At Barbière in Bern, you won’t be alone. But so far we’ve always managed to find a seat without making a reservation. After arriving, head to the counter and check the beer menu – because the draft beers change frequently. You can choose from different beer styles – for example lager, IPA, stout, or sour beer.

Crowd at Barbière in Bern
Barbière attracts an urban crowd, especially people living in the Breitenrain “Breitsch” quarter. You’ll see students, parents with their children, businesspeople, and other characters. What they share is their desire for a great beer at Barbière in Bern.
Service
The staff is very friendly and happy to provide information about the different beers. If you’re not sure which beer you’d like, the staff will offer you a sip to help you decide. Once you’ve chosen your beer, you go back to your table or seat, and the waiter brings you your beer.
Selection at Barbière in Bern
Barbière doesn’t just serve ordinary beers. The brewers do a great job brewing their beer. This time, Barbière offered “Oyster Stout,” which contains the aroma of real oysters. You could also drink a “Pseudo Lager,” which tastes like a lager despite being a top-fermented beer. Barbière makes sure customers can enjoy one of my favourite beer styles – namely sour beer. This time, the sour beer was an Aprigose, a gose beer with a hint of apricot flavour.
Besides beer, you can also treat yourself to other drinks like wine or non-alcoholic beverages such as iced tea. At lunchtime, Barbière serves daily specials, also without meat. In the evening, there are small dishes like cold platters, with or without cheese.
Quality
